Contrada Santo Spirito is Palmento Costanzo’s prime cru. This exemplary vineyard is home to the estate’s ancient rows, which bear the selected grapes that yield the winery’s most iconic labels: Prefillossera, Contrada Santo SpiritoEtna Rosso andContrada Santo Spirito Etna Bianco.

It represents the most authentic soul of the north side of the volcano and is mainly cultivated with Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccino. The wines produced are distinguished by utmost elegance, excellent fruit and superb structure, featuring remarkable minerality and a surprising longevity.

The proximity to the lava flow that in 1879 redesigned the landscape of the area further characterized the soils, which Palmento Costanzo enhances by identifying Particella 464, 466 and 468.

Each Particellaresulted from a specific zoning process that was based on its proximity to the lava rock and brings out a distinct trait of the Contrada. This allows to reveal the impressive sensory richness that the Etna has created over time in the glass.
